Full bridge rectifier
Full bridge rectifier
A Full wave rectifier is a circuit arrangement which makes use of both half cycles of input alternating current (AC) and converts them to direct current (DC).
How it works-
Materials-
4 1N4007 diodes, a 500v capacitor ,
transformer of your choice(optional),
solder iron and solder metal.
Procedure-
Connect the diodes as shown in the figure and solder them .
Connect the capacitor in parallel to the output wires(not shown).you can connect these arrangement to either a transformer or directly to the power supply.
Precautions-
Diodes are not supposed to be connected in reverse bias.
A.C is dangerous, handle the apparatus carefully.
You can keep the arrangement in a plastic box for safety purposes.
